Workshops

The second annual TLNOG events, hosted by TLNOG in partnership with APNIC, is scheduled for November 19–20, 2025. This engaging workshop, focused on Cisco technologies, aims to enhance participants’ skills in securing network infrastructures.

This intensive workshop is designed for networking professionals looking to enhance their cybersecurity expertise. Participants should have a foundational understanding of network operations, Internet technologies, and basic command-line skills, including familiarity with the OSI model and TCP/IP.

To get the most out of the hands-on sessions, we recommend completing preparatory courses in Linux fundamentals, cybersecurity basics, and routing principles. The workshop will cover advanced topics such as network security, cryptography, intrusion detection, DDoS mitigation, and security operations.

Please ensure you meet the technical requirements, including bringing a suitable laptop/desktop (Intel i5/i7, ≥8GB RAM, 30GB free disk space) and having an active APNIC Academy account. We look forward to helping you build practical cybersecurity skills in this immersive learning experience.

Conference

On November 21, 2025, TLNOG and APNIC will host a one-day Network Security Conference, specifically designed for Timor-Leste’s IT professionals. The conference will feature expert-led sessions on critical topics, including advanced threat mitigation, network monitoring strategies, and emerging cybersecurity trends, fostering knowledge-sharing and innovation in the region’s IT community.
