TLNOG 1 Community Event – Internet Routing Workshop

We are excited to announce the upcoming TLNOG 1 Community Event – Internet Routing Workshop, a significant event for network operators, IT professionals, and enthusiasts in Timor-Leste. This event will take place from August 19 to 22, 2024, and promises to be an enriching experience filled with knowledge-sharing, hands-on learning, and networking opportunities.

Activities Schedule:

Workshops (August 19 – 21, 2024):

For the first three days, we will be hosting a series of workshops aimed at providing in-depth training and practical knowledge. The workshop topic is “Internet Routing Workshop for Beginners.” This workshop is designed to help participants gain a solid foundation in internet routing, specifically tailored for those new to the field.

  • Workshop Topic: Internet Routing Workshop for Beginners
  • Synopsis: This workshop, meant as an introduction targeted for beginners in Network Operations, covers Internet routing design principles and industry best practices on how to build a scalable network, through a combination of lectures and hands-on lab exercises. We will explore routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and relevant techniques like policy control and mulithoming with the best common practices.
  • Instructor: APNIC (Awal Haolader as Network Analyst / Technical Trainer)
  • Target Audience: Junior technical staff who are or will be involved in Internet technology standards, local and national network infrastructure planning & deployment, and day-to-day network operations.
  • Pre-requisites:

Conference (August 22, 2024):

On the final day, we will hold a conference that will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and technical sessions. This conference will bring together industry leaders, experts, and professionals to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in network operations. It is an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn from thought leaders, share their own experiences, and expand their professional network.

Why Attend?

  • Educational Opportunities: Gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge through our focused workshops.
  • Networking: Connect with peers, industry experts, and thought leaders in the field of network operations.
  • Professional Development: Enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in internet routing and network operations.
